Course Aim
The aim is to enable personnel to classify, identify, pack, mark, label, document, accept and handle shipments of dangerous goods by air and sea as required by the ICAO/IATA Regulations and the IMDG Code for air and sea respectively. The air element lasts for three days and the sea element lasts for two days and can be taken separately
Participants
Shippers, freight forwarders, operator and ground handling agents as detailed in categories 1-12 in IATA Table 1.5.A.
Certification
There is an exam for each mode and is certificated by Irvine Meres Ltd approved both by IATA and the CAA UK. The certificate for air lasts for two years and the certificate for sea has a recommended refresher date of two years
Refresher Training
Refresher training is offered over two days but the air and sea elements may be taken separately over one day. If any candidate has not used the certificate it is recommended that an initial course is taken NB! The transport of radioactive material is not covered
